Book Review – Independent Study

The sequel to The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau, I really enjoyed this book.  Cia is in the Early Studies program of The University, and although she has no memory of The Testing, she has heard her recording she made on the Transit Communicator.  She is not sure of who she can trust or what is going on, but she remains alert.  Finally, they are being placed into their programs of study, and the pressure is on.  Cia is being set up for failure and her life – and those of all she holds dear – are in danger.  She makes plenty of new enemies and possibly some new friends, but she casts a worried eye on all of them.

The writing is good, the characters are interesting, and the action is fast-paced and exciting.  There were some really great twists in this book.  It has been a real page turner, for sure, and now I am anxious to read the third book in the series.
